The Renaissance Man and the Chocolate Factory
He’s a dancer… a choreographer… a costume designer… an accomplished painter… a TV and movie actor… a writer… he’s even a deejay. He has a rich, irresistibly charming baritone voice that reminds you of James Earl Jones.
And currently, his voice is being heard around the world as the knowing, friendly narrator in director Tim Burton’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
“Have you seen it?” says this modern-day Renaissance Man, using his trademark phrase, “It’s marvellous!”
You may or may not be familiar with Geoffrey Holder’s name, but if you are old enough to be a fan of James Bond films, you’ve seen him as the menacing, 6’6” voodoo spirit, Baron Samedi, in Live and Let Die. He’s also appeard as Punjab in the musical Annie, as Cujo in Swashbuckler, and he won two Tony awards as director and costume designer for the Broadway Play, The Wiz.
If you missed him in the movies, you’ve may have seen him as the “Uncola Man” with the deep and memorable "Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha!" laugh in 7up commercials in the 1970s.

How important is your vision?
Your vision can motivate you to persist even when all seems hopeless. Most of our frustrations – in life, in career – start as thoughts within ourselves. And everything around us is merely a reflection of our innermost thoughts. So choose your thoughts carefully, focus on your vision, write down it down and think about your vision often.

Be a Character
“Voice Acting is about creating real and believable characters in real and believable situations that listeners can relate to and be motivated by. To achieve this, the performer must be able to reach the audience on an emotional level. The best way for you to communicate emotion is to present your message (or the words in your script) from your own personal emotional experience. We all do this every day, but usually only in the experience of our own personal life.

What the Bleep do we know?
As I sit in my London Hotel room after 3 days of walking, riding the Underground and taking taxis all through this rich city,
I can't help but notice the pride of the people who live here. Londoners seem so resilient, despite the terrorist bombings, just as they were in the darkest days of World War II.
Its Architectural beauty is a monument to its strength and persistence. The aroma of a thousand cuisines wafts from doorways. Ands stores brim with shoppers, undeterred by those fanatics. Even though the day is cloudy, this city seems to shine.
Shaking off the jet lag and anticipating tomorrow's flight to New York, I reflect on a movie my good friend Rob E. lauded as a 'must see'. Perhaps you've seen it, or heard the title: What The Bleep Do We Know?
